Duke is a 7-year old medium 36 pound Labrador retriever type boy! Duke has been thriving in a home with other dogs and an older cat. He is a perfect gentleman with the dogs and their sizes range from 6 pounds to 35 pounds. Duke is a playful, athletic, joyful, and can be an animated boy. He loves leash walks and car rides and is very good in the bathtub. He is amazingly content as a house/yard dog and doesn’t require any extra exercise although he really enjoys the sniffing and exploring that leash walks provide. He plays at least twice daily with one of the foster’s female dogs of similar size. They bounce around and play jaw wrestling and sometimes play tug of war with a toy. He lives with one cat without issue.
Even though Duke is a large sized dog he is a “heat vampire” and loves to sleep under the covers in bed with his person. He could learn to sleep in a dog bed or a crate, but since being in the foster home he has cuddled up under the sheets.
Duke is 100% house-trained. He uses a doggie door rain or shine; again he is such a gentleman. Duke has very mild storm phobia, but just finds a person to cuddle with or finds a quiet spot to rest.
Duke is located in Huntsville AL. He can be transported if needed to find him the right home.
Duke is currently on his Bravecto and monthly heartworm prevention. He is heartworm negative. His vaccines are current, including his Rabies vaccine.
