We adopted our Olaf 3 years ago from a high kill shelter while living in Korea at 6 weeks old and he has been with us ever since. We brought him back to California with us in June this year. Despite our best efforts to socialize him and expose him to as much as possible, at around 6 months old he started to show some pretty serious anxiety which seems to have worsened over time. He is extremely fearful of our 1.5 year old daughter and has developed reactivity to her which we have not been able to correct with training or medication. He has broken her skin on one occasion.
Olaf would be better suited to a home with teenagers ( he seems to love them) or no children at all, and no other pets. He is very well trained, and knows all the basic commands. He rarely barks, walks well on a leash, and mostly ignores passing dogs unless he is approached by them. He plays well with some dogs, but is very selective and resource guards his toys (from dogs, NOT people).
