Pixie is a gorgeous black&light tan (almost white) girl with unusual markings, her mom and dad are German Shepherds. She is a little over a year old. Pixie was returned to us as her family did not have enough time for her. She was very bonded to her family and was very depressed and scared after losing her home. After two weeks she is adjusting well in her foster home.

Pixie has had little exposure to the world before coming to her foster home, but she is eager to learn and she is improving daily. She can be shy in new situations, which is not surprising considering the changes she has been through in her life. She loved the 8yo child in her previous home, but she can be a little too much for very young children. She loves to play with other dogs and a home with a self-confident, friendly dog would be great for her. Pixie loves to run, so a fenced-in yard would be great to burn off some of her puppy-energy. She is crate trained (and likes her crate as the safe spot). Pixie is housetrained, but sometimes needs to be reminded with the words "go potty" as she can forget in the excitement of the play. Pixie is also learning to walk nicely on the leash and to behave like a lady. Pixie loves to cuddle and sit in her foster mom's lap. Pixie is looking for a family that is ready to invest the time, patience and energy to train her and provide the love and exercise any active shepherd puppy needs. Pixie lived with cats in her last home and at some point she started chasing and playing with them. With some patience and effort, she can probably be taught not to bother them. Pixie is up-to-date on her shots and she is spayed. She is looking for a family that will love her forever.

It is our policy not to place our dogs into homes with young children, no exceptions. The adoption begins with the adoption application: we do not have the manpower to respond to detailed inquiries before we receive the application. Our adoption procedures are described on the home page, please read them carefully. A donation of $250 is required at the time of adoption. If you can offer our sweet little Pixie girl a quiet and loving forever home, please submit an on-line application by
