My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Abe is a 10 month old adorable  hound puppy originally from North Carolina and adopted by current owner from Monmouth County SPCA at 4 months old.  He is currently living with his brother Finn. Due to no fault of his own, he needs a new home.  Abe is about 30 lb, housetrained, neutered, and up to date on vaccines.  He is medium energy and doesn’t bark much but is a bit shy with strangers and especially men- with a little time he can get over it.  He has worked with a trainer and has gained self confidence but will need a bit of patience from his new family.  He tends to keep distance until he knows you better- he would do best with another confident dog to play with and show him how its done!  He has been around a visiting toddler and has done well but would probably do best with a little older children.  He will chase a cat, so a cat free home is best. Abe is a very good boy and can be crated with no problem. He is good on leash and a real sweetheart!

* adoption fee- $550

More about this rescue

Wag On Inn Rescue, A NJ recognized 501(C)3 organization, located in Freehold, NJ, is a small group of dedicated volunteers, trying to rehome dogs and cats. We have a variety of animals looking for their forever home. The animals are worked with individually to be socialized with other animals and with people. Some of the dogs are obedience trained and housebroken. Special care is also taken in working with animals on basic house manners. We have two types of ways we help the animals. One is our rescue program, where we pull animals from shelters and they stay with us until adopted, we also have a "referal program" where we help owners of pets try to find them new homes. with this program, the pets stay with their owners until a new home is found, and adopted from the owner.
