My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We are located in Southern California but we adopt all over the map no matter what state you are in and will happily drive/fly her home to you if you are unable to come to us here as long as transport is covered!
If we secure enough adopters in route to San Antonio then transport will be divided amongst all adopting families to aleviate the total costs involved.

Meet Holly. She almost 4 years of age. (She turns 4 on 7-2-24)  She weighs 16lbs. And yes she is full grown, and could use a few pounds for sure! She loves loves loves her walks so losing weight won't be an issue ❤️

She is the ultimate companion dog!

Her demeanor is amazing.

Perfect age and energy level for someone who is retired or works from home and is simply looking for a companion.

She follows you everywhere, and lays at your feet, or near by. She isn't high maintenance, and only barks to alert you. She is rather serene tempered and quite by nature.

She is a shih tzu/poodle mix.

Fully vetted.

Spayed, vaccinated, chipped, and had a dental cleaning done.

She came to us mid last year. She came in with a male, from the same home and they weren't sure if they had "mated," so as a precautionary measure of possible pregnancy we kept her 2.5 months to ensure she was safe to be spayed.

They were moving to an apartment after they lost their home, and they couldn't afford taking care of their dogs any longer so they reached out to us and asked us to take them in.

There is no trauma or abuse in their background whatsoever.

The male was rehomed a few months after he came to us.

She is Very calm. Low energy. Great companion dog. Good with dogs in general, but definitely appreciates her space and being the princess, amazing with our groomer, and always welcomes her spa days ❤️

House trained, crate trained (sleeps in her crate at night) and loves her walks, as she is great on leash. Loves road trips, and will nap if she isn't looking out of the window. I would reccomend a booster seat, as she would really love one for anytime you travel with her ❤️

We did have blood work done due to a few urine infections, and our vet discovered she had two kidney stones.

He relayed to me that kidney stones in dogs is very much like kidney stones in people. (And relayed to me he also had kidney stones 🙃 and treated infections himself as they came as we were advised to do with Holly.) He stated kidney stones are maintainable, and that Holly will still live a good happy long life with someone who is willing to take over and care for her like she deserves.

We are praying that someone can accept her with this diagnosis and treat her like the princess she deserves to be with the happy ending she is patiently waiting for ❤️

Adoption fee Is broken down on her listing on our website at breadoflifek9refuge.org
