My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Olive! This pretty girl is a 5 month old husky shepard mix with big blue eyes and lots of personality! Olive currently weighs about 30 pounds and will most likely be a medium sized dog when full grown. Olive loves meeting new people and will greet you with kisses. She loves to play and has lots of energy! Once shes gotten her energy out she would love to snuggle up with her person. Or another pup! Olive gets along great with her foster sister and has been learning tons of new things from her. She will need an adopter who can continue to work with her on manners. Olive has been working hard on potty training and is doing great. If kept on a consistant schedule she is well on her way to being fully house trained. She also does well in her crate, sleeping overnight with no issues and also spends time during the day in her crate.

Olive came into rescue with a limp in her right front leg. It was found to be an old fracture and she was initially expected to have surgery to repair this leg. After being seen by a specialist it has been recommended to leave her leg the way it is. Because the fracture is old and the bone has already healed, to do surgery and rebreak it is highly advised against. Olive came to Paws Across Pittsburgh from a high kill shelter where she unfortunately was most likely dumped due to having a broken leg but that won't stop her! Olive walks, runs and plays just fine on her leg as of now and it doesnt slow her down a bit or seem to cause her discomfort. As for her future the recommendation is that she is kept on the leaner side as to not add extra stress to her leg and given pain meds when needed if/when her leg becomes sore.

Olive is a super sweet girl ready to find her forever family!
