My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Fred is looking for his forever home!

WHAT MY FOSTER SAYS: Despite being hours away from euthanasia, Fred is the PERFECT DOG. He has the most adorable giant head, pink speckled nose and puppy dog eyes. He loves his people and wants to be with them at all times. He loves full body pets and snuggles, loves giving kisses and is a happy boy. His energy level is medium, he likes going on walks and sniffing around, but also likes chewing on chew toys at home or snoozing. Fred loves all people and all dogs. He loves to play with other dogs and engages in appropriate play and chase. He walks loose leash and rarely pulls. He came to us completely house trained, knowing both sit and paw, and has been easily trained to "stay" already. He is highly trainable, food motivated and smart. He would be happy as the only dog or with other dogs that don't mind occasional play, he is also good with children he has met and is easily handled and touched. He loves balls and playing fetch. If you adopt Fred, you'll be constantly stopped by people on the street who want to say hello or compliment how adorable he is. While he doesn't love his crate (because he wants to be with his people), he will sleep in it overnight no issue at this point. I could not have designed a more perfect dog!

ATTRIBUTES: So far, Fred has done well with other dogs.

More about this rescue

Laila's Legacy missions is to ensure every homeless dog - including those with behavioral or physical challenges - that comes through our doors has a chance at a better life while educating the public on breed bias, individualistic training, and the importance of spay-neuter to lower the impact of returned and abandoned animals in shelters.
