Welcome Mira! Mira came to DCAR from a Pennsylvania breeding farm in March. She’s a tiny girl with a big personality! Mira loves being with her person. If you like personal space, this is not the dog for you!
Mira will be spayed and have a dental cleaning/surgery in the next month and will be available for adoption when she recovers and settles in.
This dog is currently being fostered in eastern Pennsylvania and cannot travel prior to adoption. Meet and greets available in the surrounding area only. Visitors welcome .

PLEASE NOTE: Unless otherwise written, all of our puppy mill survivors will require a secure fenced yard, another small dog in the home, and an experienced owner. Dogs rescued from puppy mills will have started to learn but cannot be expected to be fully potty trained at time of adoption.

PLEASE READ ALL OF THE INFORMATION BELOW!

We currently adopt in the states of PA*, NJ, NY**, DE, and some areas of MD. We can not accept applications from other states at this time.
*Eastern half
**Excluding NYC, Bronx, Long Island

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out our adoption application which you can find on our website at www.dutchcountryanimalrescue.org/adopt.html

We will reply within one week if your application meets the criteria for this dog.

Our adoption fees are on our application.

All of our rescues are spayed/neutered, up to date on rabies and DHPP, heartworm tested, treated for worms and fleas and most are microchipped.

We are not a shelter, we are 100% volunteer public charity. All of our dogs are in foster homes until they are adopted. Since we are not a shelter, we do not receive government funding. We are a public charity that relies solely on funds through our adoption fee, fundraisers, and private donations. Since we are 100% volunteer based, all funds collected go directly towards the rescue and vet costs of our dogs.

We take each rescue personally and spend a lot of effort trying to match the right dog to the right family. Thank you for considering one of our rescued dogs.

Additional adoption info

Our organization is run by volunteers who all work full time so we ask that you apply only if you are sure you are ready to adopt a dog. For casual lookers, please visit us at one of our adoption events which are posted on our website:

www.dutchcountryanimalrescue.org

We do not have a shelter - all of our dogs are in foster homes.

Our adoption application is on our website at www.dutchcountryanimalrescue.org/adopt.html

Our adoption fees are on our application and vary by age of the dog. Since we are a public charity, we rely on the adoption fee and donations to help us cover vet bills for our rescues.

We believe in matching the family with the right dog so we do not have a checklist of requirements - some dogs need a fenced in yard where others do just fine with regular leash walking. The only general requirement we have is that adopters of our puppy mill rescues must have a fenced in yard since these dogs can be flight risks at first. Most puppy mill dogs will not do well in a home that doesn't have another dog.

It is impossible for us to answer all inquiries due to the high volume of email that we receive. However, if you apply for a dog and have not heard back within 3 days, please feel free to email us at adoptions@dutchcountryanimalrescue.org to make sure your application went through OK. We prioritize emails from applicants and adopters.

More about this rescue

We are a 501(c)(3) approved non profit organization headquartered in Bucks County, PA with a foster network in multiple states around the country.

Our vision is for all animals to be given the opportunity to live in a peaceful environment with a warm place to rest their head, proper medical care, a full belly, and to truly know the meaning of love.

Our mission is to rescue abused or abandoned animals that otherwise would not have a chance. Most of our rescues come from puppy mills and high-kill shelters around the country.
