My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PLEASE READ ZIGGY’s BIO IN DETAIL TO ENSURE THAT HE WILL BE A GOOD FIT FOR YOU AND YOUR LIFESTYLE BEORE APPLYING. PEASE NOTE: ZIGGY IS BEING FOSTERED IN BRAMPTON, ON

We at All Paws Matter believe in the benefits of post-adoption training for our dogs and their families. This allows for continued socialization, learning and helps to create a well-mannered and balanced dog. This is now a requirement in our adoption process. Proof of training classes for puppies specifically is required before adoption.

Ziggy was brought to our sister shelter in Mexico after a lady found him chained in front of the owner’s house with tape around his snout. She begged him to give Ziggy to her and he was released in her care since he didn’t want him. We are so happy he is here with us now, safe and sound and away from all the abuse he had endured..

Ziggy is a loyal boy who loves people and the brand new world around him. He’s well behaved in the home, but if you leave food hanging around, look out! He is a counter surfer and does love his food. His foster is working on this and with time, we know it is something he will overcome especially knowing that he never got any food with the owner who abused him. He still is a bit shy of new people, but he overcomes that quite quickly with calm and gentle reassurance.

He is fully house trained and crate trained, is not destructive and quiet in the home while his foster is away, and sleeps quietly in his crate at night. He is low to medium energy so he’s not a dog for a highly active family. A house with a securely fenced in yard and walks every day suit him just fine. He would do well with another dog or just as an only pet since he could certainly use all the attention he was never given before. Respectful children 6+ and no cats as he does show some interest. He walks fairly well on leash and since he is so highly food motivated he could certainly can be easily trained in all aspects of his new life.
.
If you feel you would be the right fit for Ziggy, please fill out an adoption application at https://www.allpawsmatter.ca/apply-to-adopt/

All APM dogs are UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, spayed or neutered, dewormed, Heart worm (4dx snap) tested and arrive with a health certificate. They come to adopter with a harness, a collar and two leashes for safety.

NOTE: The above description is relevant to this dog in its current and previous setting. Home changes and adopter personalities can bring out different behaviours not previously seen. We also do not claim or suggest that our dogs are hypo-allergenic or that they shed/do not shed.

BREED DISCLAIMER: We are never sure of the breed of our dogs since they arrive off the streets or shelters. It is a guess only!

More about this rescue

At All Paws Matter Dog Rescue along with our sister rescue SOS el Arca, we are determined to save as many broken, abused, abandoned to die and neglected street and shelter dogs in Canada and Mexico as we can. Motivated by a deep love of our 4 legged friends, our mandate is to save and improve as many lives as possible. We have seen many tragedies and have witnessed the most horrible cruelties, but we know working together we can make a significance difference. Raising the awareness of the importance of spaying and neutering our 4 legged friends and through the love and support of our wonderful volunteers, supporters and adopters our hope is to rescue, heal and successfully rehome as many of these deserving souls as possible.
