My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What my friends at ACC say about me:

My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!

I love getting pets and - you guessed it - snuggles!

I'm ready to learn! I need a patient person who has the time to work on training with me.

I would do best in a home with only adult humans.

I am excitable and energetic! I will need positive outlets for my energy!

My Boroughbreak buddy writes:
Shortbread was pretty nervous around construction sites or the streets with more car traffic. He takes some encouraging and distraction to walk past them. In general while walking, he takes many pauses and puts the brakes on often, so I would say he needs some additional training/encouragement to get him to walk in longer strides. He was easygoing on the leash and didn't pull at all. He had 2 moments where he got zoomies and was mouthing at my hand and the leash, but I just said no in a firm voice and he would immediately calm down. He didn't notice other dogs if they didn't acknowledge him. The few that did bark at us, he whined a little wagging his tail at them, but was easily redirected to walk the opposite direction. Whenever we sat down, he was very cuddly and mushy, so I imagine he will be a velcro dog in the home :) such a pleasure walking him!
