1.

Meet the Pet

Please call to schedule an appointment to meet the pet you are interested in or call our kennel attendant Rachel for more information.

2.

Sign Adoption Contract

Adoption contracts can be signed in person or electronically via email and require a photo id.

3.

Pay Fee

The $45.00 includes the spay/neuter and the rabies vaccination.

4.

Take the Pet Home

Once spayed/neutered & given rabies vaccination from local vet then your newest family member is ready for their furever home!

Adoptions fees are $45.00 (cash or check only at this time) The adoption process requires photo ID be provided along with a current mailing/physical address and current phone number. An adoption application must be signed either in person or electronically via email.

Visiting & Adoption Hours at Shelter: Monday-Friday 10:00-4:00 and Saturdays 10:00-12:00. (Some appointments can be scheduled for 8:00-10:00 and 4:00-5:00)

Administrative Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Office & Shelter closed to the public most major Holidays.

Hardee County Animal Control was formed in 1995 to promote responsible pet ownership, provide adoption services for strays in our care, enforce FL State Statues, reduce pet over-population and reunite lost animals with their owners. We are a small rural government run open admission shelter.
