My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cuddlebug and her two daughter guinea pigs are an adorable family of American guinea pigs looking for a loving guardian.

Cuddlebug was purchased at a petstore with her partner who turned out to be male. Before the family realized the mistake, she had two litters.

Sadly this is a common problem with mis-sexing of guinea pigs. It’s not always so easy to tell when they are young. The trio of girls was relinquished to Friends of Petraits Rescue.

They get along beautifully and it’s certainly fun to watch the family dynamics, hold them and feed them.

Cuddlebug is two years old, Taterbug is nine months old and Doodlebug is six months old. The threesome eat unlimited timothy, orchard and botanical hays, three cups of fresh salad each day including cilantro, green, red leaf, and butter lettuce, parsley, and share a half cup of guinea pig pellets. Guinea pigs need daily vitamin C from fresh pellets, a 1-inch square of red pepper, or some of their dark leafy greens.

Please read up on guinea pig care and diet before adopting by visiting this excellent website http://www.guinealynx.info/

These girls would love a home with people who will handle them daily, keep them well-fed, nails trimmed, and keep their habitat nice and clean.

If you’re interested in meeting and possibly adopting Cuddle, Tater and Doodle, please fill out the adoption application at https://friendsofpetraits.com/guinea-pig-adoption-application/ and follow up to make an appointment by contacting friendsofpetraits@gmail.com

Their adoption fee of $75 for the three benefits the Friends of Petraits Rescue Group. For an additional $50, you can purchase their 2 foot by 4 foot Midwest guinea pig habitat and a starter kit of all the supplies you’ll need to care for them, or you can buy a doublewide, or doublelong cage 4 x 4 foot or 2 x 8 foot with ramps connecting them for $100 with all their supplies.

They are being fostered in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood.
