My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lint is full of big emotions & doesn't do anything halfway! He might start out scared for a little while in a new place, but once he gets to know you he's in for full-throttle affection! He will rub against your legs & hop up to bump against your hand for as many pets as he can get - if you hold your hand out, he will do most of the work himself! The more attention he gets, the better he likes it. However, he can get a little over-excited & nippy; sometimes he needs a short break to calm down. Once he gets comfortable with the people around him, in his spare time he enjoys exploring new areas of the house & playing with toys a bit, but mostly he wants to be where his humans are - he will make biscuits in your lap & even take a nap with you when he eventually gets his fill of pets & ear scratches. If he has to be closed off away from them, he will sing you the Song of His People so you don't forget about him.

More about this shelter

The Maryland SPCA connects wonderful pets to loving owners. We are not affiliated with any national animal organization, and we do not receive any government or United Way funding. Our mission is to prevent cruelty and neglect of animals through fostering the humane relationship between animals and people. We operate primarily in the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan area.

To make sure that our dogs and cats do not contribute to the pet overpopulation problem, every one is spayed or neutered before going into a new home. The cost is included in the adoption fee, as are the costs of shots and other necessary care. In addition, a free Positive Pooch class is available to our dog adopters.

There is no set time limit for how long an animal can remain in our adoption program. As long as an animal maintains general good health and a sound temperament, we keep him or her until adopted. We pride ourselves on providing premium care to the animals in a clean, pleasant environment. Our adoption staff works diligently to pair up adopters with the best animal match for their homes and lifestyles.

We transport animals from other shelters to our adoption center to help more animals get adopted. We also help pet owners find new homes for their pets so their animals don’t need to enter shelter care.
