Banjo is a handsome and spunky 5-year-old male. He enjoys chasing toys, even his tail at times, and playing with you as you wave a feather wand about for him. He is especially fond of food. He has learned what a refrigerator is for and will gladly greet you when he hears the door open, hoping for a treat. He enjoys his nap time as all cats do and will sometimes choose to nap in your lap but other times enjoys sleeping by a window or on a cat bed. He has a wide vocal range of meows which you will always hear around mealtime. He is very good with his litterbox and super curious, always wanting to be where the action is! Banjo would do best as an only pet; not merely an only cat but an only pet. He does have a history of rough and dominant play and persistent chasing of other cats. He gets along with people but is very shy at first. Once he warms up, he enjoys being petted and will give you the sweet occasional lick of feline acceptance and slow blinks to show his love. He has lots of energy for play and exploration; he is no couch potato but always curious and likes to check everything out. Banjo’s most recent owner died very unexpectedly and as a result he went without food for a few days. His frequent need to lick dishes or get into places where he smells food is likely the result of those tough days. His new family needs to be very patient and understanding of this.
