This happy guy hopped into SAAP around Easter and is now ready to find his forever family! Weighing around 55 lbs, and estimated to be about 3 years old, Brutus is an adorable, loving mixed breed (American bulldog? Boxer? Something soft?? Who knows!). . .

You won’t be able to tell from his personality, but Brutus came into rescue after a quite horrific set of events. When Brutus’ prior “owners” moved from their apartment, they decided to leave him there. Alone. No food. No water. No help in sight. About a WEEK after they left him, the neighbors heard a horrible noise and someone went into the apartment to find that Brutus had somehow gotten his front leg stuck/crushed, leading to the need for amputation on March 4th. Luckily a kind family offered to nurse him through his recovery .

They may have had to take his leg, but they couldn’t take his spirit! Brutus is a happy guy, a very big fan of naps and cuddling, but also loves to play with all sorts of toys, and is surprisingly fast He has no trouble at all with going up and down stairs, or hopping into the car for a nice ride . . You are required to sign a legally binding contact on your new pet. As part of that contract, should you no longer be able to keep the animal for any reason, the animal MUST be surrendered back to SAAP. This is to ensure the animal is placed back in foster care while we secure a new approved home for the animal. However, we always try to ensure that the initial placement is best for the pet and your family. We reserve the right to refuse any adoption.

We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 non profit organization. We are dedicated to the rescue of animals that are in need of a forever home. Our animals are fostered in homes where we provide love, food, medical care and socialization until adoption into a new loving home. We educate on the importance of spaying and neutering of all pets.

We ensure all animals have been spayed or neutered prior to adoption. They are micro-chipped, up to date on shots and on heartworm and anti-flea medications (as age appropriate). They are ready and waiting to start their new life with their fur-ever family. Could that be you?
