My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tiny is a 1 yr old, certified happy girl. Our best guess for her breed is a shepherd/lab mix. Despite her name, Tiny is actually a medium sized dog and weighs approximately 40 lbs.

Looking for an adventurous girly and new playmate? Tiny has you covered. She walks confidently on leash and enjoys a good sniffari. She’s always up for playing with her foster family, and it’s even better if she can get in a good run. Tiny is FAST! She would do best in a home with a fenced in yard with plenty of space to stretch her legs. Having one (or more!) fur pals that complement Tiny’s age and play style would also be very helpful to her while she settles in and learns her family’s routine.

After play time Tiny easily switches to her relaxed mode. She is incredibly affectionate and loves to be with her humans, both adults and children alike. Tiny is definitely hoping for couch privileges to demonstrate her cuddle skills! She has also politely greeted a variety of visitors in her foster home and enjoyed their company - the more the merrier with Tiny.

Tiny shows more of her personality each day and has easily blended in with her foster family’s dynamic. She is treat motivated and eager to please. Her ability to redirect with commands/cues is super impressive! Tiny’s forever family should be committed to providing paitence and consistency in crate training while she adjusts to her new home.

If you’re looking to add a sweet natured, active young dog to your pack, you can’t go wrong with Tiny. She’s a gem!

We are NOT a shelter: All of our dogs live in private homes with foster families. Come and meet the Almost Home dogs and their fosters at our Meet & Greet events, where you can learn more about our wonderful dogs from the people who live with them, find out which dogs are on their way and when they’ll arrive, and fill out an application to adopt or foster. We cannot adopt to homes where electric-shock fencing systems or training collars are used. For more information on the dangers of electric-shock collars, please visit banshockcollars.ca/studies.php . We do not have an online adoption application; to request an application, e-mail us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com. To speed e-mail processing time, be sure to note the name of the dog you are inquiring about in the Subject line. For Meet & Greet times and locations, visit our home page, where you also will find information on our adoption process and fees. FOSTER FAMILIES ARE LIFESAVERS!! Can you open your heart and home for a few weeks to homeless shelter dog? Remember, by fostering a dog, you save TWO lives — that of your foster dog, and that of the dog who takes his place in the shelter! Come to a Meet & Greet and find out if fostering is for you — there's no reward quite like the feeling that you've saved a life ... or two!

More about this rescue

We are a small group of volunteers whose goal is to save the lives of homeless dogs suffering in high-kill shelters. In doing so, we hope to provide an alternative to the purchase of puppy-mill and pet-store dogs, thereby reducing the demand for and ultimately the supply of such dogs. We strive to match each dog with the right family after the dog has been observed in a foster home.
