My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Hendrix! I’m 8-months-old, and I've been told I'm quite the gentleman when it comes to my manners. Just whisper the phrase "nap time," and I'll trot off to my crate, happy as a clam. Affection is my middle name. I'll be your shadow, whether you're lounging on the sofa or whipping up something delicious in the kitchen. Cuddles? Absolutely, count me in. Car rides are a breeze with me; just help me hop in, and I'll enjoy the view in quiet contemplation.

New places? Love 'em! I'm always up for exploring and meeting new friends. Speaking of friends, I do like to play the alpha role in the dog park, engaging in friendly tumbles and games, all in good spirit, of course. We think I’m an American Staffy/Pittie mix, but with rescue it’s always a bit of a mystery! I’m currently weighing in at around 50-lbs, but I am still growing.

Walks are a delight; I keep pace like a pro, though I might get a tad too enthusiastic if a bicycle goes by—only because I want to join them! Passing dogs? No problem, I've mastered the art of polite sitting to let them pass. Commands? Got a whole repertoire: come, sit, stay, lay down, and of course, "nap time" for kennel time. Potty training? Check that off the list too!

I'm a quick learner, eager to please, and while treats are great, your approval is what I crave the most. Cats at the rescue didn't faze me, and I've always enjoyed the company of my canine siblings. Also, a yard would be splendid for me to stretch my legs. I'm also content curling up indoors after a day's adventure.

I've had the joy of living with kids and other dogs, blending seamlessly into the family dynamic. My confidence shines through in everything I do, making me ready for whatever life throws my way.

So, if you're looking for a loyal companion who's as comfortable on an adventure as he is being a couch potato, who values both the thrill of play and the tranquility of a peaceful home, look no further. I promise to bring joy, laughter, and a whole lot of love into your life. Let's make some memories together!

I’m being fostered in Friendswood, TX and I can travel to the PNW, the East Coast, and Canada.

A note about adopting a puppy from the Houston, TX area: Based on statistics, puppies from this area are one of the MOST desperate in the US. Euthanasia rates are incredibly high for both puppies and adult dogs. This precious baby is safe with us now, but there are so many more to save every single day. Our adopters truly save lives.

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We provide weekly socialization programs for our dogs through playgroups and group leash training classes available to all dogs in our adoption program, and Doggy Sleepover, Doggy Day Out, and Ambassador programs for our boarding dogs. There is a professional dog trainer on staff to provide support for our fosters and dogs, and an off-site dog trainer for dogs that need more extensive behavior modification. This helps us learn deeply about every dog, prepare them for adoption, and ultimately match them with loving families. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:

• A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)
• One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan
• 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan
• Coupons for a fun visit to Petco
• Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
