A Little Bit About Me

Although Jackson Galaxy has just arrived at the shelter, we have found him to be friendly, social and confident. He enjoys petting and is super handsome!

Jackson Galaxy's former guardian had this to say about him: He is a friendly lovebug who likes to be everywhere you are. He is very personable and loves to sleep with you or on you! And he loves laps!

Jackson Galaxy needs to be an indoor only cat due to limited vision in his left eye and his FIV positive status.

More about this rescue

We are a group of people dedicated to rescuing dogs from crisis situations, some of which include euthanasia by animal shelters, neglect and other forms of abuse, or "free to a good home" ads, which result in dogs being bounced from one home to another, or being acquired by animal brokers ("bunchers") and sold to research laboratories where they are used for testing then discarded ("cruelty industries").

NBCR&P works primarily with 5 herding breeds, and herding breed mixes. On occasion, NBCR&P also rescues and places other breeds. We foster our dogs in a home environment, rather than a kennel, if at all possible. We take pride in our promise that at any time and for any reason in the dog's life, if the need arises, he or she has a safe place with us ("return to rescue" policy).
