Our family adopted Mateo from Texas, whose mom was saved from a kill shelter while pregnant, at the end of March 2024. The adoption agency knows his mom is an Australian Cattle dog/Blue Heeler and advised us that they believe dad is a Rottweiler or other large breed dog. We quickly discovered a household member is allergic to dogs, and unfortunately, we need to rehome Mateo. He was born January 17, 2024 and he is a a cute, adventurous, little puppy. He loves being outside and running around with our children, who are six and five years old and he is great with them!
We are currently working on housebreaking by using a bell when he has to go out as well as crate training both during the day while we are at work and at night. Mateo is a smart pup who is also mastering the art of 'sit', and 'place.' We are keeping up on vet appointments. We are devastated to have to rehome him but due to the family health issue, cannot keep him long term.
