My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Marlee!!

MARLEE is an 18 month old who loves everyone she meets and always bestows kisses upon our staff & volunteers. This pup just wants to be loved and is so eager to please. She will give a lifetime of unconditional love to the lucky family or "someone special" who chooses her as their companion. Marlee is a shining star!! She is food motivated and we know that training will be great for her and she will thrive in making her humans happy while she learns. We love her big heart and beautiful brindle coat, which is very distinctive. Marlee has wonderful traits, as well, such as a love for children, willingness to learn and respond to commands, and the yearning to form a meaningful bond with her people. She is great with other friendly dogs, and due to her medium-size, she can easily integrate with existing family pets. .

If you're seeking loyalty and love from your canine companion, then Marlee is your girl! Apply for her today to join you forever!!!

VETTING NOTE: Fetching Hearts Rescue completely vets our dogs thoroughly to the best of our knowledge based on communication with our Southern Vets. If anything is brought to our attention, we treat the dog. After adopting the dog, you will be responsible for following up with all vetting going forward.

HEARTWORM NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 5-6 months from the last Heartworm treatment.

More about this rescue

Fetching Hearts Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)(3), volunteer run rescue that is dedicated to saving dogs who have been abused, neglected or abandoned and finding loving, caring homes for them.

We rely on a network of foster families so that each dog that we pull into the safety of our rescue is placed in a foster home and is no longer confined to a life in a kennel.

We are committed to helping dogs of all ages, breeds and sizes by partnering with shelters and animal control services right here in Connecticut as well as with several high kill shelters in the South.

We do a full assessment of each dog's temperament and health to ensure that we are able to find the most suitable home for them. Every dog is fully vetted - meaning they are up to date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered, heartworm negative and micro chipped - before being adopted.

The ASPCA estimates that approximately 3.3 million dogs in the United States enter shelters each year, of which approximately 670,000 are euthanized*. Our goal is to advocate for and provide education about the need for spaying and neutering to eliminate what has become an epidemic of unwanted dogs.*
