My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Calling all scruffy dog lovers! If you are looking for an adorable puppy to join your family, let me introduce the Fabulous Ms. Maple! Maple is a five-month old Miniboz (her mom is a 15-pound Boston and dad is Schnauzer). Maple weighed in at 12.5 pounds at her last puppy check-up and is expected to be around 20 pounds when she is full-grown. She has had all of her shots, is in perfect health and is now ready to find her furever family!

Maple has an adorable personality and is very smart and goofy. She loves playing with other dogs and will likely do well with cats although she has not been cat tested (she is indifferent to cats when we are on walks). Maple is also great with children and would thrive in an active home with a family and fur-brothers or sisters. Like most puppies, Maple is full of energy but also loves to cuddle and always wants to be near you. When she came to her foster home, Maple had some separation anxiety issues but with training and trust, she has come a long way! That said, if you are a "no dogs in the bed kind of person, Maple may not be the puppy for you as she is happiest sleeping next to her person where she feels safe. She does great in her crate during the day though and has been enjoying limited home alone time with roaming freedom privileges with her foster brother and sister.

Maple became the unofficial office dog at her foster mom's work and has been an excellent emotional support puppy for all of the tax staff and clients. She has really come out of her shell being in the office and went from a timid, scared puppy to a little social butterfly who gives puppy kisses to almost everyone she meets.

At the time of this posting Miss Maple is still intact as she's too young to be spayed. If adoption occurs prior to Maple being altered, a Spay Contract will be in place requiring the adopter to have her spayed by a licensed veterinarian at their own expense.

If you feel you & your home might be a good match with Maple, please complete an adoption application at www.abtr.org to begin the process of becoming an approved adopter.

More about this rescue

Alabama Boston Terrier Rescue Group ("ABTR") is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the welfare of the Boston Terrier dog breed.

ABTR takes any Boston Terrier regardless of age and/or medical condition, and places the dog in a foster home. Our rescues are placed in the loving homes of volunteers where they are assessed for personality, and then are carefully matched to an adoption home that will provide only the very best.

All Boston Terriers, Boston Terrier mixes and others are spayed/neutered before placement,(unless age or health issues prevent this at the time of adoption) vaccinated, and all known medical conditions are addressed and treated as appropriate. A lengthy screening and education process is done before an application is approved. An adoption contract is completed, and post-placement follow-up is done. An adoption fee is charged to cover the tremendous veterinary expenses incurred by ABTR. But we can't do it alone. Generous donations from kind people like you sustain us with the financial support necessary to care for these victims of selfishness and neglect. You can help support ABTR by mailing your tax-deductible donation or by using PayPal. We hope that you enjoy our web site and will visit often.
