My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Boone, a sweet and gentle senior dog who is ready to find his forever home! Boone is a handsome Shepherd mixed breed with a beautiful tan and white coat and eyes that will steal your heart. Boone has one blue eye and one brown eye making him one of the most unique dogs in the shelter! Don't let his size intimidate you, Boone is a gentle giant ready to snuggle up and show you how much he believes he is a lap dog. If you are looking for a loving and loyal companion who will always be by your side, Boone is the dog for you! Come and meet him today and see for yourself what a wonderful addition he would make to your family.

Boone was generously sponsored by Lynn and Jeff Leidigh during our Reigning Cats and Dogs event. Thank you, Lynn and Jeff Leidigh, for sponsoring Boone!

HSPC's adoption fee is currently reduced from $100 to $75 unless stated otherwise within the pet's description. Every pet that is available for adoption has been spayed/neutered, microchipped, wormed and is up-to-date on vaccinations including heartworm preventative (canines). Adopters are required to schedule a wellness exam with their veterinarian at their cost within 7 days of adoption. We are currently closed to the public and we will only respond to inquiries accompanying an application submitted through warmhearts.org/adopt.

More about this shelter

The mission of the Humane Society of Pulaski County is to rescue, care for and find homes for abandoned, abused, homeless and unwanted animals; to reduce suffering of animals; and to reduce the number of homeless animals through adoption, spay/neuter, and through education.

The Humane Society of Pulaski County provides access to low-cost, healthy, inoculated, sterilized animals to people seeking to adopt animals as pets only. Adopters are screened to see if they can provide the basics of care for the animals, proper housing, and continued veterinary maintenance; and have no history of animal abuse or irresponsible ownership.

The Humane Society is a private no-kill shelter, supported solely by donations, fund-raisers, bequests and grants. We receive no city, county or state funding, nor are we affiliated with any other organization. We have been rescuing animals since 1946, and have been in our present building since 2000.
