My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oh, what a cutie and those eyes!
Manny is estimated to be about 5 months old and weighs 34 pounds right now. Here are a few nice facts about him:

So affectionate
Loves to be in your lap
Likes to be close and sit on your feet, too cute
Playful
Likes to give kisses
Loves, love, loves pets and praise
Thinks chasing leaves is fun
Always checking in with you and attentive
Seems hand shy and cowers when he has an accident, does not seem to have received praise or encouragement
Very responsive to training and wants to please you
Walks nicely on leash with a happy bounce, with regular check ins and eye contact
Loves tennis balls and easily relinquishes them
Has a playful, “all in” play style with other dogs
Needs a home where any children are at least 13 years old
A family that is home a lot since he is just a puppy and deserves a lot of time and attention to be the best pup he can be is what he needs

Manny does have some mild food bowl guarding. He is in training at a foster home and is doing wonderfully, what a smart, good boy. He knows wait at bowl and is using a slow feeder to calm his eating. Manny is not displaying this guarding behavior with his foster mom now that he has formed a relationship of respect and trust. He will need an experienced adopter who will continue to work with him on this. They need to understand and know how to instill leadership and structure, especially to manage any guarding behaviors.

If you are interested in Manny and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend!

*Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*
