My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Animal Profile: Ashley is an estimated 2-year-old Doberman mix that weighs 67lbs. She’s coming from Apple Valley Animal Services, where she was assessed to be friendly with people and dogs, and very well mannered on leash. We couldn’t let this gorgeous girl sit in a shelter where she was at risk, so she’s heading to Washington to start a new life. We are excited to get to know her in foster care and help her find her happily ever after.

Foster Update:  Sweet Ashley has blossomed in foster care and is ready to find her forever home.

She is fostered in a home with a toddler and is gentle and respects the child’s space. She gets along excellent with the resident dogs as well as other dogs she has met on property. She loves to play but also knows when it is time to relax and coexist calmly. Ashley has moderate prey drive so understanding how to redirect her excitement toward small animals and fulfilling her prey drive will be necessary. She loves to go on walks and adventure and settles really nicely in the home. She is motivated by food, play, and affection!

Based on her personality and behavior, we think Ashley would do best in an active home, single family home with space to run. We are looking for an adopter who will continue her training and provide her with structure and exercise. She could easily go to a home with children. She would love a canine companion but it’s not required. Ashley has not been cat tested at this time.

Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current on DPPV & Bordetella. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.

Animal History: This dog was rescued from the euthanasia list at a high-kill shelter in Apple Valley, California and being transported via START, arriving to Seattle area foster care 3/14/2024. She will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.
