This is Silas! Silas was found running as a stray and was never reclaimed by his previous humans. We are guessing he is around 3 years old and he's as healthy as a horse!
Silas can be cautious when meeting new people and does best with slow, easy introductions. Based on his reactions to the other dogs, introductions with them will also have to be slow! We think he would do best in a home with older children and needs his boundaries respected! He's an extremely smart dog and has been easy to get into a routine here at the shelter with, so any additional training at home should be a breeze! He loves to play long games of fetch, then when he's tired he loves to lay in the kitty pool or get sprayed with the hose!
Due to his past, we would need for Silas to go to a home with a securely fenced yard or someone that's willing to walk him daily. He's a boy that is going to need a fair amount of exercise and something to keep his brain busy if he's to be left home for long periods of time. He has some restraint issues and makes his boundaries clear. This also means he will need a home with lots of large breed experience!
**Neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines & monthly prevention. He weighs 82 lbs**
