My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sarge is a three year old neutered pit mix.
He loves going bye bye, rides in the car like a gentleman, and loves to cuddle on your lap whenever you let him.
He adores meeting new people and pets, he is medium energy so he can hard core nap with the best of them and be your jogging buddy too. He knows sit, stay, load up, and come. He waits politely for his dinner with the occasional whoops and whines to make sure you know he appreciates the impending meal. He has never showed aggression towards any animal including cats or any people. He isn't one to be scared easily but when he is scared he seeks your cuddles (mainly at the vet). He loves being up on the couch with you but will respect any boundary you set. He stays short hair year round and so will come with his winter blanket for chilly day walks. He is house trained and yard trained requiring nothing special to keep him in either area.
His only vice is he jumps when excited but he has gotten much better with time only jumping on occasion.
All in all Sarge wants to be your best friend, cuddle bug, and play mate. He would be wonderful in any home as long as there is love and would fit in well with a mixed fur family or anyone who wants a life long friend.

Sarge is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.

Additional adoption info

Adopting from The Love Pit means gaining a family member. It means gaining a network of pit bull advocates, ready to support you and provide you with all of the resources we can. Most importantly, adopting from The Love Pit saves lives. When you adopt, you're saving the life of your own dog, opening space in their foster home for another shelter dog in need, and creating space in the shelter kennel for a dog whose life would have otherwise been on the line. Your thanks for all the good you've done? Lots of love and pit bull kisses to enjoy for years to come.

Go meet their pets

We have monthly adoption events at different locations in Dallas and Fort Worth which are announced on our social media pages and will also be posted on our website.

We will also set up an appointment with you to meet the dog of your choosing.

More about this rescue

We are a foster/volunteer based 501c3 nonprofit dog rescue in Dallas, Texas. Our mission is to reduce the number of homeless pit bull type dogs in shelters and on the streets through rescue, rehabilitation, education, and advocacy.

Our goal is to educate the public about a breed that often falls victim to breed specific legislation, discrimination, and cruelty and promote responsible pet ownership through spay/neuter initiatives, vaccinations, and training resources.
