My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tuffy came to Famous Fido Rescue by no fault of his own. His guardian passed away and there was no plan in place for the dog to go in such an event. As a result, he came to our doors, where he’s now searching for his fresh start. Tuffy is a very sweet little guy, who would be fine around other small dogs or cats. He’d ideally love to have someone who could spend the majority of the day with him, especially during this transition. It’s a big change for a senior dog to go through, and he needs someone who will help bring him comfort.

Famous Fido was founded by Gloria Lissner who has been independently rescuing dogs from the death rows of kill shelters since 1975. She officially opened Famous Fido Rescue & Adoption Alliance in July 2010. All our dogs recieve the necessary vet care and treatment is never refused. Famous Fido has developed a full merchandise line, starting with our all natural dog treats to support our rescue efforts. Our products are available for purchase on our website. The mission of FFRAA is to form an alliance with similar organizations to increase community awareness, public consciences and create a No Kill Nation.
