My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

River is a lovable goofball whose sweetness level is off the charts. Seriously, he's so friendly and affectionate, you'll wonder how you ever lived without him. He's the kind of dog who will greet you with a wagging tail and a smile every time you walk through the door. Oh, and did we mention his adorable little bobtail? It's like a little exclamation point on his already adorable personality. Plus, those big, soulful eyes of his will melt your heart every time they meet yours!

Plus, River's got manners for days. He's housebroken and crate trained, so you can trust him to be on his best behavior. River also passed his cat test with flying colors, so if you've got a kitty at home, he's totally cool with that.

River's only request? He'd thrive in a home with older kids who can keep up with his playful spirit and appreciate his never-ending zest for life. So, if you're ready to add some joy, laughter, and a whole lot of love to your life, River's waiting to meet you. Trust us, he's the missing piece to your happy ever after!

More about this shelter

With an open admission policy, a No-Kill philosophy, and more than 3,100 animals crossing our threshold each year, we have still maintained a 98% placement rate over the last 3 years.

This is an amazing feat for any organization…let alone one that takes in some of the most abused, injured and seriously ill animals imaginable.
