My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Microchipped, DOB: Nov. 23, 2013

Hello, Professor Plum here. I’m writing to let you know that I’ve successfully completed my PhD in being handsome, sweet, and one of a kind. My foster family has fallen completely in love with me, but I am now seeking my forever home.

When I’m not reading and writing, you’ll often find me relaxing with my humans. I’m quite fond of a nap, as most intelligent cats are and I love to cuddle and play. I sometimes ponder if I’m even 10 years old? I’m so spry and still get what the kids call “zoomies.” I like to express myself vocally when I require attention or food, so please make sure to listen to my wise words.

As you can clearly see, I’m a stunning boy. Unfortunately, during my stray days my Persian cat beauty routine was neglected, and I’ve had to undergo a bit of TLC since being in foster care. I’ve had several of my teeth removed which means I can only eat wet food. It also means that my tongue often hangs out of my mouth, but I say that just adds more character to my charming looks.

I had some pretty matted fur that had to be shaved off, but as my hair grows back into the beautiful coat I once wore, I’ll need a regular brushing routine to make sure I’m always looking my best. My nails have also been trimmed but they’re not in the best shape right now, so I think it’s important for you to know that they’ll probably need regular and careful cutting. As any gentleman of my stature would, I’ll require someone to stay on top of my grooming sessions and vet trips, and to pay lots of attention to my unique features. I promise, I’m very worth it.

In conclusion, I am requesting a forever home where my human(s) will be around most of the time and will treat me like the king I am. While I am a well-respected professor, I’m also a total sweet heart who deserves all the love, care, and attention to make sure I’m living the best life I possibly can.

Special note from my foster family: We are in love with Professor Plum. He is a teddy bear of a cat and is so sweet and cute. He needs a home where he will be KING and will get all the attention he deserves after a hard life. Professor needs affection, love, patience, understanding, and care.

He also needs a family who has a dedicated budget for his upkeep, as we expect he will need more grooming and vet visits than some other kitties might. With all that said, we can't emphasize enough what a great cat Plum is. He is so sweet and adorable and deserves the best life. We are obsessed with the Professor and whoever adopts him is a lucky person indeed.

Thank you for welcoming a senior cat into your family - an adoption fee of your choice is appreciated, vs. our standard adult cat adoption fee of $200.

Additional adoption info

Adoption fee is $200 per adult cat, and $250 for kittens (under 8 months old).

This ensures that the cats that come into our care receive the attention they need, are spayed or neutered, and receive a rabies vaccination at the appropriate age. For City of Toronto residents, the adoption fee includes a mandatory City of Toronto cat license that is valid for one year. As you can imagine, these fees only begin to cover our costs; donations and ongoing fundraising efforts carry us the rest of the way!

Note:
-Senior cats (8 years or older) have an adoption fee of the adopter's choice, vs. our standard adult adoption fee of $200.
-Our adoption fee for an adult bonded pair (8 months or older) is $150 per cat vs. $200 per cat. Thanks for giving two loving friends a home together!
