My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Athena! Athena is a gorgeous 6.5 year old black & white mixed breed gal- Look at that smile!
Athena is from a crowded shelter in SC and is looking for her forever home. This is what her foster home this past week had to say about her while she was waiting for transport: "Athena is a sweetheart! she loves snuggles and will flop into your lap any opportunity she has! We found out last night that she gets a little anxious during a thunderstorm, but she found a quiet spot in the closet and was just fine! She doesn’t show too much interest in playing but she loves being outside and exploring. She’s very calm and well behaved. She does great in the crate (but got a little anxious in the crate during the storm). I think she just wants to be next to her human! She’s so loving and I think whoever adopts her is going to be very lucky!"

More about this shelter

At Darbster Rescue, our goal is to place kittens, cats, and dogs with great, forever homes in New England. The pets are primarily from South Florida and other southern states where the euthanasia rates are very high. Our shelters are in New Hampshire which has a strong demand for pets relative to supply and where shelters like ours are strictly no kill operations. Our animals will go to their new homes spayed or neutered, UTD on shots and a clean bill of health from FL and NH. We are here to help everyone look for the perfect match for themselves and their family.
