My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lady, affectionately known as Peppa Pig (or just Pig😉) is a happy-go-lucky, snorty, sweet 4 to 5 year old pit bull terrier. She loves to play in the water, zooming around the yard, and be with her people. She is crate trained and house trained. She responds well to training and is eager to please. She walks well on a leash and loves to be outside to get her sniffs and snorts in. She loves going to daycare and all of her people at daycare. She loves a routine and knowing what to expect.

When she first came into rescue, she was very afraid of new people and situations and became pretty shut down. Since being in a foster home, she has gained confidence and has really started to blossom. She is learning that life is GOOD, and she doesn't need to be afraid. She is a sweet, sweet, goofy girl, and she can be talked through things when she is unsure instead of growling.

We would like to see her in a home with a strong leader that will continue to keep her safe, that she can trust to be in charge. She is a strong girl at 78 pounds, especially if she is unsure of a person, another dog, or her surroundings. For this reason, we are recommending that for now she be an only dog and no children in order to keep everyone safe and keep her on the path to success. We would love to talk with a forever home about her and answer questions. This beautiful girl is so sweet and full of love. She is ready to have a furever home.

Go meet their pets

Over 75% of our dogs are in foster homes along the front range. The foster will get in touch to schedule meetings for their foster dog. Meetings will happen in/near their homes since that is where the dog is the most comfortable. We do want you to bring family members (human and dog) to the meeting! Dogs who are currently at our Windsor facility will have meetings there and a volunteer will reach out to schedule those meetings with you. Please be aware that we do not place our dogs on a first come, first served basis, but rather a best-fit placement. Never fear, applications are valid for a year so if the first dog you meet isn't a good fit, we will have plenty of time to find one that is.
