My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lord Buckingham "Buckey" was pulled from a Central CA shelter. He had ticks, was emaciated, and could hardly walk without looking like he would fall over. Even so, he would give tentative tail wags.

After a few months in foster, not only is Buckey feeling better, but he is also a true gentleman with an amazing kind heart. He’s recovered from tick caused anemia, and emaciation. He has had broken teeth fixed, neutered, and gastropexy. He does have some hip & elbow dysplasia that will need to be monitored.

Behaviorally, he loves to love and be loved. He is good with other dogs, but let’s be honest, he would rather be with humans. He doesn’t realize he is a dog; he loves it when you talk to him, and he will look straight into your eyes to let you know that he is paying attention.

The drawback to wanting to be always with his person is that Buckey does have a little bit of anxiety when he can’t see you, but as soon as he knows you’re there, he’s totally fine. The more time you spend with him, the more special you will learn he is.

We estimate that Buckey is 2-3 years old, housebroke, up to date on vaccinations, and currently being fostered in Oakdale, California. Please consider adopting this wonderful, kindhearted boy.

More about this rescue

We are a group of volunteers with several combined years experience in Saint Bernard rescue. We are determined to help rescue and rehome Saint Bernards who, through no fault of their own, have found themselves without a home and family to call their own. We vow to treat all the dogs we encouter with dignity and compassion, placing all dogs into foster homes and never kennels while awaiting their forever homes. In our rescue, "Nice Matters", so inquiries and adoptions will be a friendly encounter for all. Our goal is to find the perfect companion for the adopter to add to their family.
