Additional adoption info

We ask the potential adopter about where they will keep pet, if they have other pets, and inform them about heartworm prevention. We try to ensure it will be a good match.

Go meet their pets

The Stone County SPCA is located at 1989 Highway 26 West, Wiggins, MS. Our hours of operation are 11am to 3pm, or by appointment. The shelter is closed Wednesday and Sunday. We have adoption events monthly at PetSmart in D'Iberville and Petco in Biloxi, MS. We house some of our cats at PetSmart in D'Iberville.

We can coordinate video calls to coordinate a virtual meeting with potential adopters. Our adoption coordinator will help to match the personality of each pet to interested applicants.

More about this shelter

The Stone County SPCA was organized in 2009 and opened a shelter in 2012. We have always been a no kill shelter. Our biggest challenge is the high demand to place dogs and cats in our shelter. Currently, we take in approximately 1200 animals annually. We do not euthanize animals for lack of space. We have a live release rate of 95%. We do this by keeping adoption fees low and transporting a large percentage of our animals (65% of our dogs and puppies).
