My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Trooper is an abundantly affectionate cat who happens to have a moderate case of Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH) or Wobbly Cat syndrome. What this means is he has muscle tremors and his mobility is compromised in that he may fall down often. But he ALWAYS pops right back up. He does not know he is any different than other felines. He is not in any pain or suffering of any kind. Trooper loves people! He is comfortable around dogs and cats. He is a bit wary of young children. He gets around very well without assistance on both carpeted and slick floors despite having moderate CH. Trooper will figure out his way to climb onto a couch to be able to sit on your lap and purr loudly while making biscuits. He prefers to potty on pee pads instead of in a litter box. He will need occasional baths. He tolerates baths but does not love them. This sweet boy does not bite or scratch during his bath time. He enjoys squeeze treats after bathing to make up for his cooperativeness. Trooper eats and drinks completely independently. The main accommodations would be blocking off stairs (adding a baby gate for his safety is best), using washable pee pads instead of a litter box, and giving baths as needed. CH cats need no additional veterinary care compared to typical cats and have normal life expectancies. He would make a wonderful addition to a family that has an understanding of his needs and is able to adapt his environment to keep him safe. His back story is he was abandoned outside to fend for himself after his owners moved. This was especially dangerous given Trooper's CH which would have made it very difficult for him to escape a predator.
