My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LOCATION: Arlington, Texas
DOB: 03/19/2022 (Estimate)

Hi! My name is Kylo! Many of you may remember me as the super skinny guy found eating cat food north of Dallas- but LOOK AT ME NOW! It didn’t take much to help me get healthy, and now I’m ready for my forever home! I’m currently in Arlington, TX but can be adopted nationwide.

I’m almost a year old but because of my past neglect, my growth was stunted- but don’t worry- I’m having quite a growth spurt now! I’m half Dane and half English Pointer per my original mom (not the person who neglected me). I’m going to be neutered soon and am up to date on shots. I’m housebroken, kennel trained, leashed trained, and I know how to sit! I’m even good with other dogs and cats!

I do not live with kids in my foster home, but I have met some. The three year old was a little much for me. I think I would prefer a little older children, maybe 5-6+ who can give me a little space if I need it. I’m quite a silly puppy and I love toys- so kids and I would be a great match. I am still a Dane puppy though and can be mouthy like most Dane puppies are, so proper supervision while I learn is important.

I also love to snuggle. I love to just lay my head in my foster mom’s lap and get hugs and kisses. I’m a very sweet boy. I’m also a Velcro Dane.. like most. I’m a good boy in my kennel but being outside by myself is still scary and I need help feeling comfortable with going in the back yard alone.

Meeting new people can also be scary. I find it especially hard to trust men with beards at first, but if they are patient with me and let me explore, we can be best of friends. I look forward to learning to trust people more so that first introductions aren’t as scary. New things in general make me nervous- but once I see that I won’t be hurt, I’m great!

I’m becoming a talker and love to “ah roo!” when I’m excited to see you! I jump around and I’m not quite sure what to do with these big feet of mine! I do LOVE Luma Bones and will quietly keep myself entertained with them! I also love soft toys like most puppies.

Despite the rough patch I had in life, I have bounced back quickly and am ready to find my forever family. Are you my new mom or dad?

More about this rescue

To rescue Great Danes from neglect, abuse, and abandonment while providing medical care and individual rehabilitation through our experienced and loving foster home program until we are able to provide each rescued Dane with a qualified, caring, and permanent home that will ensure a good quality of life they deserve.

To assist owners that cannot afford spaying, neutering or heartworm treatment as funds allow while also educating owners on affordable, local spay/neuter clinics, spay/neuter benefits, vaccinations, backyard breeding, behavior, nutrition, and obedience. Additionally, we want to be a link point to other rescues and clubs. Raising awareness around rescues and the Great Dane breed is of great importance to us.

We have been rescuing Great Danes since 2011 and we take pride in the collective love, concern, and dedication we have given to the misunderstood and forgotten Danes. It is our mission to continue to be the voices of the less fortunate Danes and to provide them safety and their birthright to a quality of life filled with love and dignity. You can help us achieve our mission by donating funds, items from our wishlist, items of relevance, your time through volunteering, or by lending your home as a foster.
