Peanut`s Foster Reports: This beautiful dog was in a foster home when it was discovered that she was pregnant. She had a litter of 11 puppies on March 24, and has been fostered with them since they were born. She is a Med/Large sized dog about 55 lbs normally, believed to be between 1-2 years old, and possibly some type of cattle dog mix. She is calm, very sweet, well-behaved, house trained, walks nicely on a leash, an all around GREAT dog! She is very friendly and playful with people, kids and other dogs and cats. She is a great companion and appropriate for a family with kids.

Our shelter has more than 500 available cats and dogs every day! For pets at the shelter: Adoptions must be completed in-person at the shelter. AAC is open for adoption walk-ins every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. A shelter pet’s availability can change at any time, so we recommend choosing a few favorites. For pets in foster: Go to www.AustinAnimalCenter.org to find the pet's profile and click that pet's pink “Adopt Me” button. This will prompt you to complete an adoption questionnaire. Submitting an application does not hold the animal for you.
We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.
Adoption Fees:
$80 cats & kittens up to 6 years old
$80 dogs 6 months to 6 years, 30 lbs and up
$100 dogs under 30 lbs and/or under 6 months
$30 small animals
No fee for senior pets 7 years and older
