My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application!

Tucker is a frisky collie 10 mth puppy who has recently arrived at his foster mom’s after having been neutered.  He is enjoying romping with her cats and dogs. Because he is still recuperating, he isn’t allowed to make use of the backyard yet or play too actively. However, he has shown that he enjoys snuggling on the couch and watching what everyone is doing inside.

Tucker has exhibited a tendency to bolt when he is startled. Loud noises have bothered him. His foster mom has had to stay alert just in case something scares him. He is currently on medication to treat his anxiety. If his foster mom crates him when she leaves the house, he does fine. However, he apparently thinks he shouldn’t be crated if she’s home and shows this by protesting with barks if she tries to crate him overnight.

Tucker loves to play with his squeaky toys. He seems to be equally motivated by both treats and play.  He also equally loves both dogs and people. It sounds like Tucker is quite playful and hopefully will overcome some of his anxiety with time, love and stability in his forever home.  The adoption fee for Tucker is $450

Additional adoption info

If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs please go directly to www.almosthomeohio.org for an application. Once the application is submitted, our adoption team can discuss the information on the application with you to determine if one of our dogs would be a good fit for your home. Lastly, a home visit will be done either by one of our volunteers or another reputable rescue volunteer in your area. We do adopt out of state, but it is up to the adopter to come meet and take the dog home. Sound like a lot to go through for a dog? It really isn't as complicated as it seems and it's the best way to ensure a good match. Please contact adoptions@almosthomeohio.org with any additional questions you may have after reviewing the information on our website.

More about this rescue

Almost Home Dog Rescue of Ohio is made up of a small (but growing) group of enthusiastic volunteers who want to make a difference in the lives of homeless dogs. Our background is with purebred collies and collie mixes but on occasion, we have other "family friendly" breeds. If you are searching for a collie, we'd like to help you find a wonderful companion that fits your family's lifestyle. All of our dogs are fully vaccinated and are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. They have also been tested and are negative for heartworm and are on heartworm preventative.
