My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

  • Adult (likely between 2 and 7 years, exact age unknown)
  • Spayed female
  • 55 lbs.
  • Affectionate, well-mannered, and playful
  • Looking for a home with kids over 6 years
  • Looking for a home as an only pet

If you're looking for a loyal companion who's always ready to shower you with love and affection, then look no further! I'm an outgoing and affectionate lady who absolutely adores spending time with my humans. I'm a sucker for belly rubs, and I'll show my appreciation with lots of gentle kisses. Tennis balls are my jam, and I'm a pro at fetch—just toss one my way, and I'll bring it back with a wagging tail! I'm a smart cookie and super motivated by treats, which makes training a breeze. While I prefer the spotlight as the only pup in the home, I promise I'm all you need to fill your life with endless joy and companionship!

I need to be your One and Only so I have a half price adoption fee to help me find a home!

The online adoption listing websites require that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.

Additional adoption info

**Please contact the shelter or visit our website at http://hsjc-wis.com for the most up-to-date information about our prices, policies, and procedures. The profile information is not regularly updated and as such we do not guarantee that the information listed here is current.**

An adoption application must be completed. Home ownership verification or landlord/condo association approval is required. For dogs, if there are any dogs currently living in the home, a scheduled and supervised interaction with the prospective dog is required. Additional requirements may apply depending upon the individual animal.

Upon adoption, the adopter is required to sign a contract agreeing to provide the animal with the care and medical treatment he or she needs throughout his or her life. They also must agree to provide the animal with an indoor home and if at any point in the animal's life the adopter is unable to keep the animal, the animal must be returned to the shelter.

More about this shelter

The HSJC is located in Jefferson, Wisconsin and is a small, privately run non-profit shelter that has been in operation since 1922. We recently celebrated our 90th year of caring for dogs, cats, birds and other small animals in need. Each year, close to 1,000 pets find sanctuary at our shelter. We put forth great effort to reunite owners with lost pets and to find good new homes for those who need a second chance. We do not impose a time limit on how long a healthy, adoptable animal may stay with us as they wait to be adopted.
