My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Put your paws together for the next “Golden Bachelor”, Piglet.  Piglet was brought into the Oceanside Humane Society as a stray.  Guessing he wandered a bit too far from the 100 Acre Woods. They named him Piglet because he has characteristics that reminded them of Winnie the Pooh’s BFF.  Just like his namesake, Piglet’s best qualities are his gentle nature and loyalty.  There is no doubt in our minds that he was once a beloved family member.  His manners are impeccable. Dog friendly, great in the car, never barks, uses the doggie door to take care of his potty business, perfectly behaved for baths and nail trims and never jumps up on people or the furniture.  He is estimated to be 10 years old and weighs in at 28 pounds.  Being a senior, he does have a couple of age-related ailments.  There is a bit of arthritis in his back legs and cataracts in both eyes.  He is visual and navigates around the house just fine.  He is able to go on short strolls around the neighborhood (which he loves to do).  Piglet just isn’t going to be running any 5ks and stairs are kind of tough for him.  His perfect day consists of a good breakfast and then sunbathing in the backyard, a nice afternoon walk, a good dinner and snuggling up with his foster Mom to watch TV.  He does nap quite a bit, but when he wakes up, he seeks out attention from his foster parents.  This guy loves belly rubs and scratches behind his ears. Piglet has been completely vetted.  He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and received a dental to include 5 extractions.  He has been totally spruced up and is ready for a new adventure.  Are you looking for an easy to care for and devoted companion?  If so, Piglet would love to meet you.  Head on over to our website: www.bostonbuddies.org and complete an Application.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Boston Buddies adopts its dogs to loving and caring homes located in Southern California. We do not place our dogs in homes with children under the age of eight. The first step in adopting a Boston Buddy is to submit an Adoption Application which can be downloaded at our website, www.bostonbuddies.org. After a home visit with one of our volunteers and approval of the Application we will arrange meetings with dogs that will be compatible with the approved adopter. An Adoption Application and Adoption Fee is required, as well as follow up visits.

More about this rescue

Boston Buddies is a recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing Boston Terriers who are abandoned, neglected or abused and placing them in permanent, loving homes. Our ultimate purpose is to match homeless or potentially homeless Boston Terriers with loving, permanent families specifically interested in the breed. We do not have a brick and mortar kennel facility. Instead, we provide our rescue dogs with temporary foster care in private homes located throughout Southern California where we can assess their personality and preferences. All of our dogs are examined by a vet and provided all necessary medical treatment, vaccinated, spayed or neutered and put on heartworm preventative.

Boston Buddies is always looking for volunteers to help with shelter checks, transport and foster home care. We invite you to visit our website – www.bostonbuddies.org
