Harley <3 Slow to trust but when he does ... Wow. What an amazing transformation <3 He will make the bestest buddy, companion and sidekick. He is low maintenance, and game for whatever! Harley is a routine kinda guy. Give him a routine and he will stick to it! Currently, while his humans are at work, he is accustomed to a rotational mix of a few hours of crate and break time. When his humans are done with their workday, it is playtime for the rest of the day! Harley is wonderful with dogs, cats and farm animals! He likes to roughhouse with fellow canines. Harley also loves toys. His favorite is rope. He likes to tug with it. When he is playing tug with a dog, he paws at them as a hint to let him win. If they don’t get the hint, it is ok. No fights will break out. When he is tugging with humans, they let him win 😊 He makes cute, adorable grumbles when he plays, especially with a rope. He likes puzzle toys and tough chewers (especially when chilling in his crate). Harley is not destructive at all. He only chews on toys he is allowed to have. Harley loves fetch. He is currently working on drop it so the ball can be thrown again or simply have 2 balls. Throw one when he brings back the other. Sometimes Harley tries to race you to a toy so he can grab it first but if you do, he is ok with it too. Outside, Harley hoards all the toys in one big pile. Cute! Harley loves water. Clean or muddy water, bring ‘em on! He loves paddling in a baby pool. Freezing water? No sweat. Harley doesn’t mind. You may even have to force him out. Harley enjoys walks (working on walking nicely on a leash) so do include walks in your routine :)
Harley is about 2 years old, 70lbs. He is looking for a quiet home where he could spend his days hanging out with his humans, whether it is exploring the outdoors or chilling on the couch. Harley is naturally shy, hesitant with strangers and has sensitive areas, particularly his face. He needs the first 24-48 hours to quietly coexist with you. During this time, he assesses his environment and situation and when he knows he can trust you, he will readily come to you and aim to be your bestie in life. All is golden after that. You can touch him anywhere after this and he won't care! Underneath the shyness and strange danger is an amazing pup, waiting to bloom and shine with the right family and environment. 24-48 hours is worth the wait! Harley almost lost his life because the previous family could not respect his initial need for space and trust building. Harley is crate and house trained. He prefers to sleep in a crate at night.
