My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chloe is a bit over 1 year old and she is finally healthy enough to start the hunt for her forever family. She is only about 40ish pounds, but her DNA says she is a mix of GSD, cattle dog and husky, which would explain her singing. We are not sure of her past, but we do know it was not good. What we know about this girl is that she is shy, timid and will need a patient owner to help bring her out of her shell. She does like dogs, but she is a little awkward with them. If they are calm pups, she will start to play but once they play back, she gets defensive. Probably due to being attacked by other dogs while living on the streets with no one to protect her. We think she will thrive in a home as the only pet with a person who can help show her that life is good and someone who will give her all the attention she missed out on. She enjoys car rides but walks away from home are a bit scary. She likes to be close to you. She is housetrained, calm in her kennel and has good house manners. Occasionally she will pick up a toy but playing is something she will need to learn how to do. Additional adoption info

Thank you for your interest in adopting a rescue dog from All Mixed Up Dog Rescue (AMU) This application will assist us in finding you the right dog for your family and your lifestyle. Please note that we do not adopt out of the state of Colorado.

The adoption fee for our dogs is $250 which includes a veterinary health examination, up-to-date vaccinations, a microchip, dogs will be spayed or neutered, and heartworm tested. They will come with a dog collar and ID tag. Senior dog adoption fees will be posted separately for each dog.

You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt any of AMU’s available rescue dogs. If you feel you can offer the type of stable and responsible home we look for and are under the age of 25, you may submit your application and it will be taken under consideration.

The adopter understands that this is an application to adopt and part of the application process includes contacting your vet and personal references (please inform your references that we may be calling them). If your application meets our requirements, we will contact you by phone to conduct an interview before making a final decision regarding your application. Please do not send emails regarding the status of your application.

We typically do not adopt to homes with children under 6 years of age, homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis for each dog.

More about this rescue

All Mixed Up Dog Rescue serves the public as a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue of homeless and abandoned dogs. While in rescue we provide a loving, temporary home for each one. We get them vetted, groomed, teach them basic manners, along with some training. We strive to personally get to know each one of our dogs and look for a family that best fits their needs. What we have learned in the past is - the more you have in common the more it will make for a better relationship. Our goal at All Mixed Up Dog Rescue is to find well-matched, permanent families for each one of them. As a community resource, we provide nutrition information, referrals, education, training tips and other services.
