My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Hershey: Your Energetic and Lovable Brown Lab Mix!

Looking for a furry friend who's as sweet as chocolate and full of energy? Look no further than Hershey, the 9-month-old brown Lab mix who's ready to become your new adventure buddy! With her athletic prowess and affectionate nature, Hershey is sure to bring joy and excitement into your life.

Athletic and Energetic:
Hershey is a canine athlete in the making! With her boundless energy and love for running and jumping, she's always up for an outdoor adventure. Whether it's a game of fetch in the park or a hike in the mountains, Hershey is ready to go the extra mile with you.

Not a Fan of the Crate, But Willing to Compromise:
While Hershey may not be the biggest fan of the crate, she's a smart pup who knows when it's time to settle down. With a little patience and some positive reinforcement, she'll learn to see the crate as her own cozy den, perfect for catching some Z's after a day of play.

Good with Kids and Everyone Else:
Hershey is a social butterfly who loves making new friends, especially if they come in pint-sized packages! She's great with kids and has a knack for bringing smiles to their faces with her playful antics and wagging tail. But don't worry-her affection knows no bounds, and she'll happily shower love and attention on everyone she meets.

Health and Wellness:
Hershey is microchipped, spayed, and up to date on all her vaccines and preventions, so you can rest easy knowing she's happy, healthy, and ready to take on the world.

Ready to Adopt?

Additional adoption info

Adoption application required. Adoption Fee is $200-350 local (Local is state of Texas) $500-800 for out of state adoptions (includes transport fees).. The higher prices for Purebred and/or highly desirable pets. Adoption application, adoption contract, return/foster agreement if dog doesn't work out in home.

We work hard to place dogs in the right homes, if the adoption does not work out and we have room to take the dog back into the rescue, we will. However, the sheer number of needy animals in Bexar county TX +usually means we become full quickly after the dog is adopted. So, in those cases we will post the animal, help the adopter screen applicants and help facilitate finding another home for the dog.

Go meet their pets

We are primarily foster based rescue, and meet and greets are done after an application is approved by our counselors. The foster and adopter will arrange the meeting if both local to each other.
