Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Solar, the friendly orange tabby who's just turned 2! He's like a warm hug wrapped in fur, always ready to snuggle up and show some love. With his playful spirit, he'll turn any boring moment into a fun adventure, whether it's chasing after toys or exploring new nooks and crannies. But what makes Solar truly special is his affectionate nature-he's a real sweetheart who craves attention and gives it back tenfold. Just one look into his bright eyes, and you'll know you've found a friend for life.
There's just one thing to know about Solar: he likes being the only cat in town. He's not one to share the spotlight, preferring to have all the cuddles and chin scratches to himself. But if you're looking for a loyal companion who'll fill your days with laughter and love, Solar is the purrfect match. With him by your side, every day will feel like a sunny adventure filled with warmth and joy.

More about this shelter
The Humane Society of Greater Dayton is proud to be a no-kill animal welfare agency. We are committed to finding great homes for great pets! As a 501(c)(3) nonproft, we receive no government funding and rely solely on donations from individuals, companies and grants to fund our programs and services. We are not affiliated with any other animal agency on a local, state or national level. Since 1902, our organization has been devoted to being a voice for the voiceless. Although we proudly find more than 2,000 animals forever homes every year, we are far more than an adoption center. We currently have a wide array of programs to support animals in our community. Through our high-volume spay and neuter clinic, we are able to help pet owners as well as battle cat overpopulation through Trap-Neuter-Return. Our humane society agents also work tirelessly to protect pets from cruel and neglectful circumstances through our Cruelty & Neglect Investigations Department. Through our Veterinary Hospital, we can provide top-quality access to veterinary care at a low cost to pet owners. In addition to our many programs, our organization is unique because we are the only agency in the community able to handle all types of animals. This includes cats and dogs but also rabbits, birds, farm animals, pocket pets and exotics. Our organization is committed to providing our community, our state and our region with support and care.
