Darby is an easy, friendly, one-of-kind dog with so much love to give (and receive)! If you have treats or belly rubs to give, Darby warms up very fast.
Darby may be 10 years old but you would only know in two ways: he prefers short or medium length walks these days and when he circles in his dog bed to lay down, he lets out an old man ‘oof'.
Other than that, Darby loves to play fetch and tug-of-war. He is great with kids and can play freeze tag (Darby will chase them until they freeze and will only chase again when they are not frozen). He is house trained, does great home alone, walks well on a leash, and sleeps through the night. He knows sit, stay, and lay down.
Darby is very handsome and heads turn when he walks past. Luckily, he's friendly and if someone is willing to pet him, he wants to meet them.
Darby's favorite thing is being in the same room as you and licking your hand. He even does the cute head tilt move that melts your heart.
He isn't bothered by loud noises (vacuums, blenders, construction) and doesn't have a strong prey drive towards rabbits, squirrels, etc. Darby loves to roll in the grass and nap during the day!
If you are interested in adopting Darby, please send an email to AWLA.Foster.Kayleen@gmail.com to arrange an initial meet & greet with the pet's foster parent or a staff member. They will reply to you within 24-48 hours.
