My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Kodi is one gorgeous 10 pound, 3 year old Pomeranian looking for his perfect home. You see Kodi hasn't had a good life, there is a history of abuse, being forced to live outside, and then being abandoned so our handsome guy has some baggage. We developed a plan specific to his needs and he has THRIVED with just a little bit of work, patience, and taking our ques from him. This plan MUST BE FOLLOWED WITHOUT QUESTION BY ANY POTENTIAL ADOPTER! With that being said, and excuse us if it comes of wrong, but if you feel you know it all about accommodating a dog with a trauma history, there is no need to apply because we will not risk this poor guy being failed ever again. He needs an adopter that understands each dog has different accommodation needs and different approaches to training, but with that being said, if you listen to and follow the plan, Kodi will be purely perfect for an adult only home, and would love some friendly younger small dog playmates too!. Kodi is leash trained, but will need a fenced yard as strangers applying devices in the first few weeks of adjustment isn't ideal for him while he is learning to trust. He is treat motivated, loves toys, and would enjoy an active lifestyle to keep him happy and healthy. He is pretty well house trained with a regular potty schedule. He is crate trained, but only a plastic carrier crate can be used for him, and crate training MUST continue for him to be successful in a new home. He will need a decompression area just for him in his new home that he will use for the first 3 to 7 days then be used as an escape area for when his area of access is expanded. Kodi does well with other dogs, but cannot live with another strong willed dog, we are talking a dog that runs the show and doesn't back down, because Kodi will butt heads with that dog. Besides that type of personality, he has done awesome with every other type of dog in his foster home. Kodi rides well in a car, does well with a patience, force free groomer, and is truly a remarkable boy! The only problem he will need continued work on is vet visits as he does require a little sedative and muzzle for vetting. He also gets daily gabapentin to curb his mild anxiety which has helped him blossom here in rescue. This medication will need to be continued by any potential adopter with no exceptions. We understand it sounds like a lot, but our plan is super easy to follow, we will be available as a support system and will offer a foster situation for Kodi. He can be picky about people he allows in his circle, but if you are a good person that doesn't get overwhelmed he accepts you immediately as a friend. He will make the right family a perfect addition! To adopt Kodi, please complete an adoption application at peacelovepoms.rescuegroups.org. The $350 adoption donation ($250 for senior citizens 65+) includes core vaccines (Rabies, Parvo/Distemper, and Bordatella), Accuplex (Heart worm and Lyme test), fecal, microchip, bloodwork, neuter, and all the love you can handle!

Go meet their pets

Peace Love and Poms Rescue is not a shelter environment. All our dogs are placed in loving foster homes where they are treated like family until a forever home is found. This means all approved applicants will need to make an appointment with the foster pawrents to meet their potential new pet.
