Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Ruby Rosie is a striking black with white on her chest puppy with vivid white feet. She was born December 21. 2023. Ruby Rosie and her siblings came to HART from a shelter in Kentucky to help them find their forever homes. The folks dropping them off said that the mother is part Newfoundland, however, she does not have long hair like a Newfoundland. She is going to be a large dog, Ruby Rosie weighs 22 pounds at 13 weeks old and has large feet, but not as large as her two brothers Marty and Archie. It is very difficult to estimate adult weight, but could be 70 pounds. They are all in excellent health.
Ruby Rosie is a confident, fun loving pup. She likes children, adults, and other dogs. She enjoys playing tug of war and keep away as well as wrestling with her siblings. She has been exposed to 5 adult larger dogs during play dates 5 days a week and does well. She warms up to other dogs fast and likes to play with them. Ruby Rosie likes to have her belly rubbed and a good petting when she gets up in the morning. She also loves to lay on you lap between your legs (great leg warmer) while you watch TV, and she does give kisses. She is an affectionate pup and rides well in the car. Walks on a lead, but needs additional training.
Ruby Rosie is crate trained, and house training is going great, She is completely reliable when she has access to outside ( foster has a dogging door). I have left her for 2-3 hours in the gated kitchen without accidents. The cold weather didn’t deter her from going outside. She loved the snow and was ok with med-light rain, but he didn’t appreciate the windy heavy rain. Ruby Rosie is a laid back pup, her activity level is about average, plays for an hour or 2 and then rest/sleeps and hour or 2 as most puppies. She sleeps through the night in his crate (9:30 to 6:00) without protest, if she hears stirring near 6 he’ll start making noise to go out. She enjoys chew toys, tug-of-war, chewing on sticks, and playing with other dogs. She is highly food motivated, so training should be easy. Ruby Rosie would do best with a fenced yard, as she loves to wonder around stiffing and playing in the flower beds or anything she can find. If you think Ruby Rosie could be a good fit, submit an application and the foster will bring him to your house for a visit.
All HART dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on all vaccines, including bordatella and rabies. They are heartworm tested and on preventative for heartworm, fleas, and ticks. If you are interested in any of our pets, you must complete an online dog adoption application at www.rescueAhart.org . The application will put you in touch with this wonderful dog's foster family so you can schedule a meeting. Thanks! www.rescueAhart.org
