My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! I'm Yoshi! I'm new to Minnesota and after my long drive up here from Alabama, I'm finding life with my foster family to be amazing! I have two foster-dog sisters and I love to play and run with them. I'm a little bigger than them, so I like to roll on my back and let them tackle me so they know I'm not a threat.
I have two little boys in my foster home and I love when they throw toys for me to go fetch! We also have a good time playing tug with a rope, too. They’re good guys to play with, but I also love to cuddle up with them on the couch because they give good pets. I’m a big boy, but I am so gentle.
I sleep well in my kennel at night and am so excited in the morning when my foster mom lets me out and I can show her how much I missed her with lots of kisses and snuggles. She feeds me and my foster siblings and then we get to run around in the fenced yard for a while. We get our energy out in the morning and then I get to hang out during the day while my foster mom works from home. I have my own dog bed, but I prefer to snuggle with another pup in my foster mom’s office. That way I’m never alone and I can follow her in case she needs to get up and go anywhere!
My foster mom says I’m doing a great job with house training. I only had one accident when I first came here, but I think I was just confused in my new space. Now I know to go to the door to be let outside!
I have been showing my foster family what a good boy I am and they say they’re going to help me find my forever home with the perfect family. I have so much love to give and am so excited to find the right people for me! Could it be you?!

All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption.

Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.

More about this rescue

The mission of Warrior Dog Rescue is to save the dogs that are homeless, left abandoned in shelters, are surrendered by their owners, those that are being abused and neglected, and those that are left wandering. We are committed to providing them the medical care they need, helping them to overcome their past by providing them loving, educated foster homes, finding them their perfect forever home by means of a thorough adoption process, and guiding them on their journey into their new life. They all deserve a “good dog life… every single one of them.”

Warrior Dog Rescue will be a model rescue by partnering with overcrowded shelters that need to make room for more abandoned dogs. We will continue to educate others about responsible dog ownership in regards to safety, spay/neuter, nutrition, obedience, socializing, abuse, and neglect. We acknowledge that we will have a role in this industry to take the lead on providing awareness to others in the community and across the country. Every dog will know what it feels like to be loved till the end of their life.
