I'm a professional dog trainer who is currently fostering Asha, a dog I've been working with for a few months. Her previous owners had to give her up, they were elderly and had mobility issues so were unable to keep up with her energetic personality.
Asha is about 5-6 years old but still has a very youthful personality. She loves to be outside and explore and always has a smile on her face when she's on a walk! She's been coexisting peacefully with my dogs but I've never seen her around cats. She is a bit slow to warm up to new people but she is very expressive and affectionate once she befriends you. She has a bit of sensitivity to being pet or handled too quickly/roughly in certain situations so a family with young children might not be the best match. I've been working with her everyday to desensitize her to that sort of thing and also warm up to strangers quicker and I'd be happy to continue working with her new owners post-adoption absolutely free of charge!
