My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet Yorkie girl Ginger (Lentz) is still looking for her forever family ! At just under a year old and about 10 lbs this girl would make the perfect companion. She loves snuggling, giving kisses, playing with toys, and being with her people. She is great about letting you know she needs to go out to potty. She’s been around dogs big and small as well as cats and is good with kids.

Lentz (Ginger) 1. Approximately 1 year old female Yorkie/wire haired mix (less than 10 lbs).  Still has puppy energy & nibbling habits (easily managed with toys & playtime). Sweet & snuggly (will crawl right up on your chest) and sleep with you at night.  Likes to swipe things that aren’t hers but will gladly give it up to you (another fun game!)  Loves kids (met kids 4+) and being social (went to a soccer game and a patio restaurant like a proper lady).  Fine with big dogs but can be a little barky when she wants them to play. She gives up and respects them pretty quickly.  Not very interested in cats. Loves to chase the squirrels & birds out of her fenced yard. Even does the little bird dog paw pointing!  Will love to go on adventures with you as she hates being left behind! No long hours in a crate for this girl.

More about this rescue

Russell Rescue is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) dog rescue organization. It was started in 2008 by Mary Ruth Rogers of Columbia, TN. Our mission is to save and re-home unloved, abandoned and abused dogs, especially the Jack Russell terrier. Most of our dogs come from high kill shelters in Tennessee, and other nearby states.
