Pony Boy is super zen and mellow and would make a great companion for a family that wants an easy chill senior dog. He was pulled to safety by NorthStar on his last day in a Texas shelter. We believe he is about 10 years old and he weighs 17 pounds. He has some scars on his face so I’m sure he hasn’t had the easiest life but things are looking up for Pony Boy now that he's safe although he does have some health issues. He apparently has kidney disease and will need to be on prescription food for the rest of his life. He also has cataracts but doesn't seem to be affected by his limitations.
From a shelter volunteer: Pony Boy was laying in his little bed when I walked up to him and he was easy to leash and walk out. He does this little tippy tappy strut when he walks and it’s adorable. He seemed unbothered by the barking dogs and once outside he was busy sniffing around. He didn’t seem too interested in the big pup next to us. He wore the little cowboy hat like a champ and let me pick him up without issues. He skipped happily back to his kennel.
Pony Boy is now in a wonderful foster home - foster mom tells us that he is such a lover, what a good boy just happy to please you. He's super super super sweet & follows you around like a puppy. He loves just walking around the yard smelling flowers, watching birds and squirrels for an old man He’s so attentive.
Pony Boy deserves to live the rest of his life in a comfy home. If you've got a place for this sweet senior boy in your home & heart, please consider filling out an adoption application at www.northstarpets.org - just ask for him by name, PONY BOY TX!
